I am trying to use a moving texture of flames to create a fire object in
LW.  I almost get what I am after by using a combination of clip and
image mapping with some transparency..  Only trouble is that the edges of
the flams are too hard (sharp).  I set the edge settings to transparent
and the value to about 100, and this works, but only for the edges of the
object proper and not for the individual cutouts applied by clip mapping.

Can someone please offer some suggestions on how this may be accomplished..?
